Construction Canteen — Zinc Removal + Dosing

Zinc (2× limit) and bacteria in well water resolved with ion-exchange and hypochlorite dosing.

A zinc-removal unit and a hypochlorite dosing-disinfection system were designed, built and installed for a major contractor's construction-site canteen in Pocheon. As canteen water, compliance with the drinking-water standard was mandatory.

Diagnosis

  • Zinc — detected at more than twice the drinking-water limit
  • General bacteria & total coliforms — present (unfit to drink)

Solution — zinc removal + dosing disinfection

Dedicated zinc-removal ion-exchange resin, with a sodium-hypochlorite dosing pump on the well-water feed line to secure residual contact time, plus safety components (pressure-reducing and check valves).

Installation & commissioning

The dosing control panel uses in-house PLC design with a touchscreen for status and setpoint entry. Well-pump interlock, charging/piping, commissioning, on-site test-strip verification and operator training completed the work.

Result

Zinc and bacteria resolved together, meeting the drinking-water standard — with in-house electrical control tailored to the site.
